What it does

Six jobs AI voice does in insurance.

Vendor-agnostic. The technology is broadly the same across providers; the difference is how each vendor handles edge cases like surplus-lines submissions, state-specific disclosures, and cross-line bundling.

FNOL call handling

First-notice-of-loss calls answered in one ring, severity-scored against your line of business (auto, property, liability), and routed to the right adjuster team or escalated live for catastrophic claims.

Quote-request qualification

Captures the risk inputs your producers need: ZIP, prior carrier, claims history, household drivers and vehicles, property age, business class. Quote-ready submissions arrive in your AMS, not voicemails to chase.

Producer routing by line of business

Auto goes to the auto desk, commercial to the commercial team, life to the licensed agent. The agent recognizes the line from the caller's opener and routes correctly without forcing the caller through a phone tree.

After-hours claim intake

Storm calls at 11pm, accident calls on Sunday morning. The agent answers, captures the FNOL fields, and either routes to your CAT team if severity is high or queues the file for Monday morning with full context.

State-specific compliance flagging

Recognizes when a caller's state triggers a disclosure requirement (NY Reg 187 best-interest, FL hurricane-deductible, CA Prop 103 mandates) and prompts the script accordingly. Compliance posture is auditable.

Submission package handoff

Every call ends with a structured submission (quote-ready, claims FNOL, policyholder service, renewal triage) written to your AMS or any system that takes a webhook, with the transcript and recommended next action.

Buyer's guide

What to look for in an AI voice agent.

Useful framing whether you're evaluating us, Smith.ai, Vapi, Bland, or building your own. The questions agencies underweight cost more in production than the ones they obsess over.

Criterion 01 / 07

Latency is the wrong primary metric.

Sub-300ms response time is irrelevant for insurance intake. Callers expect a phone call to feel like a phone call. Reasoning quality matters more: whether the agent captures all 14 ACORD fields before routing matters more than whether it answers in 250ms or 900ms.

Criterion 02 / 07

AMS integration depth.

If your agency runs on AMS-360, EZLynx, Applied Epic, or HawkSoft, ask the vendor how their integration actually works. Direct AMS write? Webhook to a Zapier middleware? Manual import? The depth matters when a producer needs a quote-ready submission, not a voicemail summary.

Criterion 03 / 07

State-compliance handling, in writing.

NY Reg 187 best-interest disclosure for life. FL hurricane-deductible disclosure. CA Prop 103 rate-filing constraints. A serious vendor publishes how their script handles these. If they don't have the documentation, you're the unpaid reviewer of their compliance posture.

Criterion 04 / 07

Pricing structure: per-minute, per-outcome, flat.

Per-minute pricing aligns the vendor's incentive with longer calls. Per-outcome (per quote-ready submission, per bound policy) aligns with your incentive. Flat-rate per-month is simplest. Pick the structure that aligns with how you measure agency intake.

Criterion 05 / 07

FNOL severity scoring.

Catastrophic claims need to escalate live; routine fender-benders can wait until Monday. Ask the vendor how severity is scored, what triggers a live escalation, and how you configure the threshold for your agency.

Criterion 06 / 07

Edge case handling.

Surplus-lines submissions, captive-agent transfers, bind-by-end-of-day requests, agent-poaching attempts. Ask for a recording of the vendor's agent handling an off-script question. If they can't share one, that's a signal.

Criterion 07 / 07

The data exit story.

If you decide to switch vendors, can you get your call audio, transcripts, and structured submissions out in a portable format? For something as tied to your AMS as intake data, you should not be locked in. Ask before you sign.

FAQ

Questions agencies ask about AI voice.

Still have a state-compliance question we didn't cover? Book 30 minutes with our team.

Reasoning-model agents score severity from the call content (injury status, property damage, multi-party involvement, peril type) and either escalate live to your CAT or after-hours team or queue the file for the next business day with full context. The threshold is configurable per agency.

Where NeuraVoice fits today

Where we fit in insurance today.

Insurance is on our roadmap as a priority vertical, working with a small number of design-partner agencies. Honest about what we ship today versus what's on-demand for Scale-tier customers.

  • Webhook to any AMS

Submissions (quote-ready, FNOL, renewal triage, service request) write to AMS-360, EZLynx, Applied Epic, HawkSoft, or any system that takes a webhook. Five-minute setup.

  • Recording and transcript on every call

Full audio plus auto-generated transcript stored encrypted in US-region infrastructure. Configurable retention. Replay any call in your dashboard or via the API.

  • Train on your intake script

Paste your existing quote-call checklist or upload a recorded sample. The agent mirrors your agency's voice and the risk inputs your producers actually need.

  • Post-call analyzer with line-of-business schema

After each call, NeuraVoice scores the submission for completeness, flags missing risk inputs, and surfaces the next action your producer team should take.

  • Live transfer to producer on catastrophic claims

Configure severity thresholds that trigger an immediate live transfer to your CAT desk or on-call producer. The agent captures the FNOL fields first, then warm-transfers with the structured submission already filled.

  • Forward your existing number

Keep your current agency phone number. Forward calls from Twilio, RingCentral, OpenPhone, or most carriers. No porting, no new system.

Native AMS write (AMS-360, EZLynx, Applied Epic), state-specific compliance flagging (NY Reg 187, FL hurricane-deductible, CA Prop 103), FNOL severity scoring with custom escalation rules, and BAA path for life and health agencies handling PHI are co-built with Enterprise customers as part of onboarding.
